Apricity Collection

Apricity is the warmth of the sun in Winter. That is the image I sought to portray in this collection. It is my hope that you feel warm and comforted while looking at these pieces, while also yearning for your own Winter adventures.

This painting features Castle Mountain in all its terrific, regal glory. I found this mountain while driving towards Banff National Park. It was just resting there, all by itself, with no other mountains directly next to it. It was so obviously important that I had to take some quick snaps of it with my camera. I’m glad I did. This mountain has quickly become my favorite of the Apricity series to paint. Perhaps it’s the way it stands over the rest of the land surrounding it. Perhaps it’s because it happened to be perfect lightening when I first saw it. Perhaps it’s the interesting shape, which almost, but not quite, resembles an impenetrable fortress.
